Resource Room

Here at RJS we strive to meet the educational needs of every child.   Children who need any additional learning support are welcomed into the resource room where there is opportunity to work with a range of hands – on, concrete materials which enhance understanding and retention.   A multi sensory approach is encouraged which in turn reinforces learning and memory.  Children are supported in any area of the curriculum including the development of fine motor skills and hand eye coordination if needed.  Individual Support Plans are drawn up for each child who attends resource ensuring continuity of supports throughout their learning journey.

Positive Reinforcement

We also have a computer group for any children who have been advised to use assistive technology to support their learning. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to come together, research and create presentations and projects based on classroom topics on their laptop or tablet. They are also given time to practice their presentation skills in a small group environment.
